In preparation for the new Fraser Common development, Matcon was contracted to demolish the existing 6 storey hotel.
- Disposal and removal of all hazardous containing materials
- Develop engineered demolition plans
- Removal of all architectural finishes prior to demolition
- Demolition of the existing concrete structure with heavy equipment, including High Reach Excavator
- Removal of all footings and foundations
- Removal and disposal of underground storage tanks (incl. pumping out contaminated liquids)
- Periodic lane closure along Marine drive during critical demolition
- LEED Project – 98% of all materials were recycled/reused
- Slope cut perimeter and final rough grade of site
