Brightside Phases 1 and 3

Matcon, involving divisions like Deep Foundations, Environmental, Excavation & Shoring, has successfully executed the challenging Brightside Site Phases 1 & 3 project. The project involves various complex tasks such as drilling and installation of cased secant piles, excavation and offsite disposal of soil, installation of tie-back anchors, and shotcrete wall construction.

Key Features:

1. Complex Geotechnical Conditions: The project site presented significant challenges due to poor ground conditions, including layers of fill, peat, and soft clay in the upper 6-9 meters. This necessitated specialized techniques for foundation work and excavation to ensure structural stability and safety.
2. Extensive Secant Pile work for Cut-Off and Shoring Walls: Matcon's involvement includes drilling and installation of over 860 cased secant piles ranging from 23 to 30 meters in depth. This demonstrates the company's expertise in deep foundation construction.
3. Large-Scale Excavation: The project involves the excavation and offsite disposal of over 180,000 cubic meters of soil. Managing such a significant volume of earthwork requires meticulous planning, efficient machinery, and adherence to environmental regulations.
4. Tie-Back Anchor Installation: Matcon is responsible for drilling and installing 110,000 feet of various tie-back anchors using cased, injection, and conventional drilling methods. This task is essential for stabilizing the cased secant pile shoring walls and ensuring the safety and integrity of the site.
5. Shoring Wall Construction: Installation of 13,500 square feet of shotcrete walers and over 1200 shotcrete bearing pads highlights Matcon's proficiency in constructing durable and stable retaining walls, essential for managing the site's topography and supporting structures
